Thurlow confirms Rassmann's location

In a press release today, Larry Thurlow confirmed the location of Jim Rassmann during the March 13, 1969 mine incident. Rassmann was on Kerry's boat. This confirms what I have suspected all along. Rassmann was on Kerry's boat (eating a chocolate chip cookie?), and when Kerry took off like a bat out of hell (running from the fight), Rassmann fell off the boat.

Thurlow also confirmed that there was no enemy fire during the incident and that the wording in his Bronze Star citation for that day was "taken directly from John Kerry's report which falsely described the action on the Bay Hap River as action that saw small arms fire and automatic weapons fire from both banks of the river."

The press release was issued in response to a Washington Post story that reported that Thurlow earned a Bronze Star for the same incident but that the citation includes the "enemy fire" version of events contra what Thurlow has stated on the record.
