This is MY congressional district

A local TV station carried the story today of a laughable incident between the two incumbent Congressmen running in my district. (The Dallas Morning News carried the story as well.)

For those of you who may not know, Texas had a big redistricting battle in the last legislative session. The result was a radically changed district map which separated me from my longtime Congressman, Sam Johnson, a Vietnam POW and a fine conservative. Instead, I am now in the 32nd Congressional district. So are both the incumbent Republican Congressman Pete Sessions and the longtime incumbent Democratic Congressman Martin Frost. (Sessions leads Frost 50% to 44% with 6% undecided.)

Frost is now running ads showing Sessions streaking, at the age of 18, on the campus of his alma mater, Southwest Texas State (now Texas State University - San Marcos.) I'm not quite sure what Frost's point is. Sessions was 18 at the time, and it was 30 years ago. Frost will probably make more headway attacking Sessions on homeland security, which he has been doing for some time now.

I guess the next election we'll see the candidates running baby pictures of their opponents and pointing out how ugly they were.
