How do you politely say, "Screw off!"?
AP published a story today (via Drudge) about the Human Rights Watch position on "high value" al Qaeda prisoners.
Human Rights Watch listed the names of 11 senior Al-Qaeda suspects it said were held by the CIA in secret locations overseas, where some had reportedly been tortured. My dear Mr. Brody. Dear, dear Mr. Brody. (I'm vamping while my blood pressure decreases.)
The suspects were detained with no notification to their families, no Red Cross access and, in some cases, no acknowledgement that they are even being held, the New York-based watchdog said in a 46-page report.
"'Disappearances' were a trademark abuse of Latin American military dictatorships in their 'dirty war' on alleged subversion," said Human Rights Watch special counsel Reed Brody.
"Now they have become a United States tactic in its conflict with Al-Qaeda," Brody said.
Latin American prisoners who were killed and buried in secret were often called the "disappeared."
- There is no moral equivalency between what was done in South America and what America is doing with al Qaeda prisoners
- Americans don't really give a rats ass what happens to the men who slaughtered 3000 innocent people. If they're still alive, that's more than they would do for us.
- This is not a "conflict" with al Qaeda. It's an all-out war. Only one side will prevail, and as far as I'm concerned if there are no terrorists left alive at the end, that's perfectly fine.
- Frankly, sir, you disgust me. Where were you when the American contractors were hung from a bridge in Fallujah? Where were you when the children were slaughtered in Breslan? Where were you when the hotels were bombed in Egypt?
