Very good news from Iraq

Hammorabit is reporting very positive developments from Fallujah. It looks like the citizens have decided to back the Iraqi government and rid the country of the terrorists.
Reports from the West of Iraq indicates that the terrorists are retreating to the West and North West with a sudden appearance in Hiat region. The Fallujans are desperately waiting the Iraqi forces to liberate them and there are some information from inside Falluja about increasing open rejection to the Arab terrorists.

There is a major shift to support the Iraqi interim government to put an end to the terrorists in all areas and to put the power of law in effect.
Since this is a very positive and significant change in Iraq, don't look for it in the old media. There's no way in the world, in the middle of an election (many are voting absentee right now) that the media is going to report something that would probably clinch the election for Bush.

After the election they'll probably discover the change. Although, if there is "peace" over the next two weeks, the news will be really hard to ignore. Watch for the media to focus on any American military deaths and any American bombings that they can claim killed women and children.

UPDATE: Instapundit has more on the Sunni's change of heart, linking to three different articles, including one in the Washington Times and this from Strategypage
Sunni Arabs in Iraq are becoming more agitated about being caught in a war pitting an alliance of Saddam supporters and Islamic radicals, against the majority Shia Arab and Kurds who want peace and prosperity, at any price. The Sunni Arabs are increasingly desperate to do something about their situation. Despite the threats from Saddam's old enforcers (almost all of them Sunni Arads), and the al Qaeda influenced Islamic radicals; tribal and religious leaders are suggesting that the Saddam hardliners and foreign Islamic radicals leave. Leave Sunni Areas, leave Iraq, leave this life, it doesn't really matter. The Sunni Arabs see nothing but woe from the Saddam supporters and Islamic radicals. . . . The Sunni Arabs have been cowed by the terror, but not completely immobilized. Deals are being cut, to be finalized when Iraqi troops and police enter Sunni Arab towns under the shadow of American firepower. Will the Sunni Arab leaders remain with the Iraqi majority. Considering the alternative, they probably will.
It's beginning to look like elections in January are not as fanciful as some have thought.

The Iraqi newspaper Al Sabah is also carrying the story of the Mahdi army weapons surrender program
Dr. Iyad Allawi the Iraqi premier said "about $800 , 000has been spent round the 24hours". That sum is represented the compensations for the handing over of the weapons in the city of Al- Sadr upon the agreement realized between Al-Sadr loyalists and the Iraqi government.Attending the sessions of the national assembly, Allawi indicated that handing over weapons has increased as large numbers of population expressed preparedness to do that, affirming that several procedures and important achievements will be realized to stabilize all Iraqi cities.
as well as the ongoing negotiations in Fallujah
Commenting on the questions put forth by several of the assembly's members, Allawi said that several meetings have got underway between the clerics and Falluja chieftains to press on the fighters to hand over their weapons.Allawi confirmed that the Iraqi government might resort to use military force in case not handing over Al- Zarqawi to the Iraqi government.Allawi has expected the escalation of the terrorist acts and explosions owing to the escalation of pressure on the terrorists and tightening them.
and this
The population of Falluja is observing the settlement efforts to end the foreign presence in the city amid reports on the deterioration of the relations between the locals and foreign fighters.Meanwhile, the local sources said that the disputes have been escalated between the locals and the foreign fighters, led to the killing of more than five of those fighters.News reported that these clashes came upon bitter criticism addressed by local commands to the foreign Muslims, unveiled special scorn for Al- Zarqawi and his group because of the murder of hundreds of innocent civilians as some local insurgents described Al- Zarqawi as a mentally- confused .
The IPG is also now bragging about the "security and stability" in the country - a sure sign that things are improving rapidly.
A top senior official at the Ministry of Interior has attributed the success of the military operations implemented by National Guard Forces and Iraqi police in cooperation with US forces in Youssifia, Latifiya , Jeraff al-Sakhar regions and Samara to the negotiations held between government and chieftains and personalities in Fulluja and the success of other negotiations in Al- Sadr city represented in handing over weapons to the government as well as the security stability the Iraqi capital Baghdad is witnessing now. He mentioned that the maintenance of the security situation in Baghdad and all Iraqi provinces has required an active contribution of the citizens and large efforts by police departments and National Guard forces. He confirmed that the accurate intelligence submitted by Intelligence Agency at the Interior Ministry has had an active role in arresting terrorists and rupturing them.He referred that the Interior Ministry and police checkpoints have arrested a number of dangerous kidnapping and smuggling gangsters few weeks ago.
Relief for the Iraqis can't come soon enough.

Whether or not Americans will now about it or not is up to the old media.
