The air is thick with irony

Captain Quarters reports (hat tip to Patterico) that several Democrat advocacy groups have filed complaints with the FEC in an attempt to stop the Swiftvets ads. The irony is so thick you can cut it with a knife.

The Republicans have also sent letters to TV stations trying to get ads pulled and have also filed complaints with the FEC with regard to the MoveON.org group, Michael Moore's Farenheit 9/11 et. al., all to no avail. The FEC is taking a wait and see attitude, and they're not about to rule on any of the 527 org problems until after this election.

As I warned in July and reiterated recently, this is going to get a whole lot nastier before the election. What's good for the goose is good for the gander and all that, but what about the poor, besieged electorate?

I'm just glad I don't live in a swing state.
